Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the TasteScan app and website, operated by Emirhan Varlı ("we"). By using TasteScan you agree to these terms. Contact: hello@tastescan.app.

What TasteScan is

TasteScan analyzes photos of menus, bottles and dishes (or text you type) and generates personalized food and drink recommendations using AI. Recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees.

Important: food, allergen and health disclaimer

Menus don't list every ingredient, and AI can misread or be wrong. TasteScan's recommendations — including any dietary or allergen-related filtering — are informational only and must not be relied on for medical or safety decisions. If you have food allergies, intolerances or medical dietary requirements, always confirm ingredients and preparation directly with the restaurant or producer. If you choose to consume alcohol, do so legally and responsibly; TasteScan does not sell alcohol and does not encourage its consumption.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use TasteScan.

Subscriptions and free scans

TasteScan may offer a limited number of free scans, after which continued use requires a paid subscription.
Subscriptions are billed through Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms. Prices are shown before purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your store account settings before the renewal date. Refunds are handled per the relevant store's policy.

Acceptable use

Don't scan or submit content you don't have the right to share, or content containing other people or sensitive personal information.
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, overload, or circumvent limits of the service.
Don't use TasteScan for any unlawful purpose.

Your content and our license

You keep ownership of the photos and text you submit. You grant us the limited license needed to process them to operate and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our intellectual property

The TasteScan app, name, logo, design and generated interface content are our property or licensed to us. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond normal app use.

Disclaimer of warranties

TasteScan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of recommendations.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on recommendations. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using TasteScan and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
